4. A VISIT TO THE NORTON SIMON MUSEUM OF ART
DINNER AT KATHY AND RICK'S
RICK'S FLUTES AND MARJORIE'S PAINTING

March 25, 2005

Friday night is a wonderful time to visit the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. It is open until 9 P.M. on Fridays, and we fit in our visit before dinner.

LOST BUT FOUND
Collage and Sculpture, 1920-2002
was the wonderful exhibit that drew us to the museum that night, as it was ending on Sunday! Kathy had seen it several times, and wanted to share it before the opportunity was lost. Of course we wandered everywhere and absorbed a lot of the permanent collection too, fascinated with many things we had not seen before.

Only a night visit will show off this neon art frontpiece over the museum entranceway!

Friday night sightings at the Norton Simon...

Kathy had mushrooom appetizers, peacakes and Maltese Minestra all prepared so a warm dinner was ready when we got home.

Rick showed and played some flutes from his collection.

Last but not least, we bought a painting from Marjorie Collins, and we are now the proud owners of "Cherries"! (This is just a glimpse...a better photo to come.) Marjorie does stunning work. This is a watercolor...which you might not have guessed.
